Have You Checked Your Blood Pressure Lately?

High blood pressure can develop anytime.
Have you been under a lot of stress lately?
One of my dear friends has recently taken on the role of caregiver for her aging relatives. The stress level has resulted in her blood pressure climbing.
Fortunately, the tragedy of losing her sister too soon (to untreated high blood pressure) has made her painfully aware that denial, and lack of treatment can be a deadly combination.
Facing a health robbing condition, she knows that she needs to evaluate her options and take action immediately.
So far she has been much better about getting out and walking each day. She can’t change the stress that revolves around her, but she can choose to be gentle with herself.
The biggest challenge, she has found, is cutting back on red wine in the evening. It is such a comfort, and really seems to help the stress so much, that she has had a hard time keeping it under control.
Each day is a new day. Each day she faces the challenge.
I don’t worry about her. She is aware that she needs to make changes, and she is always making new goals for herself.
Just because you have not had health issues in the past, is no guarantee that you will not develop high blood pressure tomorrow.
It is a good idea, with the current economic state, to pay a little extra attention to your blood pressure.
Do you know what you do to cause high blood pressure?
There are many habits that become unconscious, AND that largely contribute to your developing high blood pressure.
- Drinking alcohol to excess.
- Eating too much sugar, (high blood sugar, diabetes, is definitely a contributor to high blood pressure).
- Living a sedentary life style.
- Taking drugs such as steroids, diet pills, cold remedies, and ibuprofen.
- Strong emotional reactions to the challenges of life.
Women need to be aware that pregnancy can contribute to high blood pressure, and that the use of contraceptives can increase your risk of developing high blood pressure.
So if you discover that your blood pressure is up, what are your options?
You might be surprised just how much you can do to remedy your high blood pressure naturally.
If you are already on prescription medication, you need to involve your health care practitioner in any changes you make to treat your high blood pressure. Don’t risk your health by playing doctor!
The High Blood Pressure Remedy Report will fill you in on every option, side effect, and health building habit you can utilize to bring your blood pressure back to normal.
Life is too short! Make sure you are on the look out for signs that your body is in trouble, and work each day to make better choices and be more active.
- Nothing can help you get your daily exercise like a dog. Adopt a best friend and hit the road!
- Switch your salt to sea salt (wet and colorful is best), and limit your salt intake.
- Got a sweet tooth? Eat fruit!
- Stop smoking!
- Limit alcohol to one drink daily, at most, for women and two for men.
- Make healthier food choices and drop excess weight.
- When life gives you stress, do what you can, and let it go. You can’t make positive change while you worry.
Find your answers, and live your best life.
Many blessings,
Carrie

Aloha Michelle,
My heart goes out to you! I don’t know your mother’s whole story, however you mentioned that your mom is bed ridden. That factor all by itself will cause the heart muscle to weaken. Also you said she has lost a dramatic amount of weight. The malnutrition that results from significant loss of appetite can cause fluid retention. Your mom’s weakening heart muscle will become more problematic, and fluid retention more prevalent.
You are right to a certain extent. When you are no longer able to be active, your body takes measures to break itself down in an effort to leave the planet. So yes, this is to some extent, a “natural progression toward the end”.
In order to provide the best care possible for your mom, and lessen her suffering as much as possible, it is important that you keep her oxygen level 92% or higher at all times. Also a quality nutritional supplement that is easily absorbed would be very helpful for your mom.
You are an unsung hero! I want to acknowledge the loving care you are giving your mother during this very difficult time. It is not easy to watch your loved ones fade. An article I wrote last year might offer you some comfort. Take care of you! I am here if you need any advice or support.
Many blessings,
Carrie
