Can You Relax If You Don’t Get Everything Done?

Are you one of those people who just can’t sleep at night unless you’ve taken care of all of the “to do’s” on your list?
I used to be one of those people too.
Choosing to relax makes your life much happier.
Who couldn’t use more happiness?
Stress doesn’t make whatever causes you tension better.
The other day I made an appointment with my chiropractor, hurried my older two kids off to school, and the little one to a baby-sitter.
By the time I cleared the populated area where the traffic was, I could tell I was going to be late.
Instead of stressing, I chose to take a deep breath and enjoy the drive.
You can see by the pictures that I would have really missed out if I had been hurried, and not present.

A live volcano is an unusual sight.

I had to stop by the warm ponds on the way home. Now we’re talking relaxing.

Then the flowers entertained me all the way home.

Thanks for sharing the drive, hope your day includes time for you to relax.
Many blessings,
Carrie

Hi Carrie, your pictures are beautiful. If you do not mind my asking, where do you live? Some of your pictures especially #114 and #117 look exactly like an area where I live, infact I think I will take a couple of pictures and show them too you. It really is uncanny.
Aloha Carol,
I live on the Big Island of Hawaii, the location of the only active volcano in the United States. Neat, but not so great living with the pollution. What can we say. We love it here. They say that The Big Island is where Angels come to mend their wings. I can see why they say that.
Many blessings,
Carrie
Thanks for sharing these beautiful pictures, Carrie.
The simple act of appreciation goes a long way to changing our heart rhythms and results in a completely different set of side-effects. Ones that are good for you! (Now, if that isn’t something to appreciate, I don’t know what is.)
I wasn’t aware that there was a lot of pollution there.
Hoping to get to Kona for my next vacation. (My life list includes hitting all the Hawaiian Islands – done Kauai, Maui and Oahu. Getting there!)
Aloha Marianna,
The pollution is all from 2 vents from the live volcano here on the big island. Kona gets lots of the vog (as they call the volcano discharge) but maybe you’ll get lucky and the winds will change and blow it this direction while you are enjoying Kona. Check out the Hilton Waikaloa, great fun!
Many blessings,
Carrie
Regulated life-style and controlled food habits give very positive and enthusiastic results and can prevent and even cure many diseases without medicines. It can also reduce and even open the blockages of arteries and will keep a person physically as well as mentally fit.
In the year 2002, I suffered from heart problem and due to blockage of arteries I got angioplasty done. The reason of heart problem was suspected to be due to heredity by doctors as all the blood & other test results/ medical parameters were well within the prescribed limits & I had never suffered with any other ailment like blood pressure etc. After one month of angioplasty I was advised for by pass surgery by one of the best hospitals of Delhi (India). But instead of going for by pass surgery I changed my life style and started regular walking, some exercises and yoga. I also changed my food habits and nature. Now I am quite healthy. I get my lipid profile and TMT checked every year and all the test results are above average without by pass surgery.

What great pictures! yeah if you can’t fix it, why stress about it.
People laugh at me because I’m always telling them “Breathe.”
Be great.

Aloha Wilbau,
I promise, more daily life pictures are on the way. I’ll tweet you to let you know where to find them. And yes there are horses here, several live across the street from me

Oh yes, Carrie, how could you rush through countryside like that! Good for you, and I bet you weren’t that late anyway
I have had the strangest experiences with time when I just relax instead of stressing…one day I swear time stopped for 15 minutes! hahaha Still can’t explain it
Stress is what really kicks our body into disease mode, I’m sure. If we can just remind ourselves and each other to not get sucked into the modern habit of rushing everywhere, and worrying about everything, I’m sure we will become a healthy human race again. And eat a natural diet too, of course…
All your advice and information is so helpful and spot on!
Portia
Gratitude and blessings to you!
Aloha Portia!
You know …. I was right on time! I have had similar experiences with time being seemingly “expanded” by being present and peaceful! Amen to that! Maybe there ARE enough hours in the day!
Many blessings,
Carrie
